Meet the founder

Hola, I'm Richard Bay, "Dickie". Since the beginning it has all been about connecting with nature and people.  I was blessed to grow up in a small town right in the heart beat of the Rocky Mountains in Canada, we were always in the creek that flowed through town, jumping off the waterfalls or fishing at the lake. Snowboarding and x-country skiing in the winters, I spent my last years of high school in the Outdoor Careers Program and was inspired to volunteer afterwards by our amazing instructor. I went on to become a Journeyman Carpenter and lived in remote locations like the Yukon, Honduras and eventually Vancouver Island where I learned to surf after a life changing accident in Honduras. I spent 10 years learning to walk again after a head on collision with a bus while I was building a Rammed Earth House. This accident and my first travel experience through Central America would be the two biggest blessings and learning experiences of my life. They were both abundant in hidden messages and lessons that I am still unfolding today….
